What is Covid?
The Corona Virus (covid 19) is an infectious disease that stems from SARS-CoV-2. SARS-Cov-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) that was first identified in Wuhan, China and was deemed by the world health organisation to be a public health emergency of international concern.
Covid 19 is a viral disease, meaning it can be spread
through droplets and particles emitted from a carrier
of the virus.
The virus can also be contracted through making
physical contact with a carrier or something they have
previously touched.
The virus can be transmitted through airborne ways in
the form of respiratory droplets to smaller aerosols. To
prevent the spread, one should cough into an
elbow or into a tissue/handkerchief. Isolating in the
case of an outbreak is also a wise measure of
prevention.
